Threats
Biodiversity loss
Deforestation, land degradation, and unchecked agricultural practices disturb ecological balance and lead to the loss of plant and animal species from geographies.
Displacement
A vast chunk of the global population lives around and within forests, depending on them for basic needs. The deterioration of these areas and ecosystems forces people out of the lands they call home.
Food Insecurity
As forest lands undergo human-induced stressors, leading to soil degradation, lost biodiversity, and other issues, those relying on forest covers face food security risks and hampered nutritional profiles.
Solutions
Value Network Ventures (VNV) institutes community forestry projects that tackle the risks spawned by deforestation and land degradation head-on. We mobilize rural populations to transform their local ecosystems by adopting sustainable agriculture, afforestation, reforestation, and revegetation efforts by tapping into incentivization rendered by the carbon markets. These endeavors address environmental and social problems exacerbated by climate change.

Our work is geared towards providing these communities access to the carbon markets and climate finance. We work with local populations and grassroots organizations in these regions to deliver both nature-based solutions and technology-based emission reductions at a massive scale.
